Client 1 originally contracted with The Water Retail Company for our English sites in July 2017, shortly after water deregulation in England. Our contract was for an initial supply period to co-terminate with our Scottish sites. We awarded a new supply contract to The Water Retail Company covering both our English and Scottish sites for water and wastewater. The contract was structured on a wholesale plus basis and the contract value is circa £8.5m annually.

The main reason we awarded the contract to The Water Retail Company was the level of technical expertise that came with it to support our water reduction strategy. This support has been excellent throughout the contract as has the level of water industry knowledge to allow us to challenge wholesaler charges and deal with difficult situations as these have arisen.

The account management team at The Water Retail Company have been excellent as has the levels of communication. We have worked together on projects such as providing meter readings, water logger installations, new build infrastructure and Environment Agency liaison to name just a few areas.  During the Covid period we had to shut all of our sites, and The Water Retail Company advised us in relation to vacant site registrations and challenging the MOSL algorithms around seasonality. I would thoroughly recommend them as a potential supplier to any business.
