In partnership with Save Water Save Money, we are proud to introduce the NHH Water Efficiency Collaboration Portal, a new digital platform designed to simplify access to water-saving solutions for non-household (NHH) customers.
This free tool brings together offers from Wholesalers, Retailers, and Third Parties into a single, streamlined experience, making it easier for businesses to save water, cut costs, and reduce environmental impact.
The NHH Water Efficiency Collaboration Portal is a unique online engagement platform developed to address inefficiencies in the current fragmented landscape of water efficiency services. At present, businesses and multi-site organisations face a confusing mix of initiatives from different market players, often leading to duplication of effort and increased administrative costs.
This portal eliminates those barriers by providing a single customer journey where businesses can:
The platform is first trialled in the Water Resources East region, an area under significant water stress, with participation from multiple Wholesalers, Retailers, NAVs, and Self-Supply Licence Holders. By offering equal access to all market participants, the portal ensures fair competition, full transparency, and compliance with industry rules. If successful, the trial will support a wider national rollout.
The NHH Water Efficiency Collaboration Portal has been awarded funding through the Market Improvement Fund (MIF), recognising its potential to deliver significant water savings, strengthen collaboration across the market, and support national efficiency and sustainability targets. This grant underlines the importance of the project in driving innovation and measurable improvements within the non-household water sector.
The Water Retail Company is proud to have been the project sponsor, supporting the cause from the very beginning and working in close partnership with Save Water Save Money to bring this initiative to life. Our strong collaboration reflects a shared commitment to delivering meaningful improvements in water efficiency for businesses across the UK.

The UK faces a significant water challenge, with demand expected to outstrip supply by more than 5 billion litres per day by 2050. Since non-household customers account for nearly 30% of total water use, improving efficiency within the business sector is vital to meeting national goals.
The NHH Water Efficiency Collaboration Portal provides a practical, innovative, and collaborative solution to this challenge. By reducing duplication, increasing transparency, and delivering targeted interventions, the platform not only helps businesses cut costs and improve resilience but also supports the broader sustainability objectives set by government and regulators.
At The Water Retail Company, we believe this initiative represents a major step forward for both the market and our customers. Together, with our partners and participants, we can build a smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable future for UK’s water use.

Leak detection is the process of identifying hidden leaks in pipe systems to prevent costly damage and maintain efficiency.
